The last thing Lavell Ingram expected to hear was that the mother of his son, 12-year-old Kaden Ingram, would be killed over something as senseless as a memory card.  According to NBC Chicago, Kaden’s mother, Fallon Harris, became enraged after she presumed Kaden sold her member card.  Harris, 39, was arrested last Saturday on charges of first-degree murder.

According to local police, the heartless Harris approached her son while holding a gun and asked Kaden to return the card. While it is not known what was on the memory card, law enforcement said Kaden told her he didn’t have the card when Harris shot him.

Apparently, the first bullet did not kill Kaden, law enforcement said. It was only after Harris returned to the room and shot Kaden again.  “It hurts. It is hard to describe,” Kaden’s father told reporters. [Kaden was the joy of my life. He was everything a father could want in a child.”

Harris was diagnosed with a mental health problem and was seeing a therapist.  But oddly enough, Kaden’s father appeared to paint Harris as something other than she was: heartless. “His mom is a loving mom. She loved him more than anything in the world,” Ingram said.

Although Kaden’s family says paying closer attention to mental health is critical in preventing situations like Kaden’s death, the fact is many individuals living with mental illness do not kill innocent people, let alone the child they gave birth to.

Harris is currently being held without bail, NBC Chicago reported. A judge has also ordered a health evaluation for Harris.
