An Idaho woman Lori Vallow Daybell, is now being indicted for the killing of her fourth husband.In a statement, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said. Lori is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. On Thursday, a grand jury charged her in connection with the 2019 killing of her ex-husband. Vallow and her current husband Chad Daybell were already charged with murdering their two children Tylee Ryan who was 16 and Joshua “JJ” Vallow who was 7.
Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel said, “I appreciate the tremendous number of hours the dedicated officers of the Chandler Police Department have invested, and my office is equally committed to bringing those responsible for Charles Vallow’s death to justice.”
Per reports, Charles was murdered after he filed for a divorce. Vallow was accused of agreeing with her brother Alex Cox to kill Charles. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said on July 11, 2019, Cox called 911 and told police that he fatally shot Charles.
At the time, Cox called it self-defense and he was never charged. In December 2019, Cox died of what was reported to be “natural causes” that involved a blood clot. On Tuesday, in a statement, Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel said that “complex, difficult cases of this nature take time to properly investigate and solve.”
After Lori and Chad Daybell got married, Daybell was charged with the first-degree murder of his ex-wife Tammy Daybell. Tammy died in October of 2019 at the age of 49. At first, her death was ruled natural causes but later detectives called it a homicide. According to the prosecutors, Daybell was also involved in insurance fraud related to Tammy’s death, and Vallow was charged for conspiring as well.
Earlier this month, Vallow was ordered to undergo treatment at a mental health facility since she was found unfit to stand trial. Daybell is a self-published author who has worked on more than two dozen books primarily about the near-death experience of the doomsday events. Several people close to Vallow had concerns about Daybell’s doomsday beliefs.
Vallow and Daybell raised suspicion when they did not report that their children missing, and didn’t cooperate with the investigators. Right after the investigation, the couple fled the state. According to reports, the two children were last alive in September of 2019. On June 9, 2020, both boys’ remains were discovered on Daybell’s property officials said.
