“There were a lot of things that should have destroyed me,” Gomez said. “‘What else?’ I thought every time I went through something. ‘Is there anything else I’m going to have to deal with?'” After being diagnosed with lupus in 2014 and undergoing a kidney transplant and chemotherapy, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer had difficulty.

As part of her mental health treatment, Gomez quit using social media, which she claims helped her feel less anxious.

“‘I’ve got to do something [more],’ I say to myself. I want people to remember me for my heart once I’m gone.’ “She stated, “I just put down this small little phone with 150 million people on it. That gave me a huge sigh of relief.”

“You know, I’d gone to treatment a couple of times for anxiety, depression, and other things that I’d been battling with,” Gomez explained. “Recently, I went to one of America’s greatest mental institutions, McLean Hospital,” she added, “and I detailed how, after years of going through a lot of different things, I recognized that I was bipolar.”

Gomez admitted to having anxiety, sadness, and panic attacks in a 2017 Vogue interview.

“It genuinely helps me to have more information. It no longer scares me now that I’m aware of it… I wanted to know everything there was to know about it, and it relieved my anxiety, “she stated.
