Roderick Flowers, 29, and Keith Edwards, 31, were arrested last October after an undercover sting by the DEA

In a crazy story, two former cops, Roderick Flowers, 29, and Keith Edwards, 31, were arrested last October during an undercover sting by the DEA.

According to the officers’ attorney, and the site Daily Mail both Flowers and Edwards were such big fans of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s roles in the movie “Bad Boys”, that Flowers and Edwards  blurred the lines that involved cocaine.

Sources say Flowers and Edwards took jobs as bodyguards to protect a shipment of cocaine.  However, they failed to realize that their involvement with cocaine was part of a sting organized by the DEA.   The DEA employed an undercover officer who pretended to work for El Chapo’s old cartel.

Edwards and Flowers were given $5,000 upfront after the crooked cops informed the undercover cop, they had special SWAT training and were confident they could get the cocaine past shipment without being discovered.

After the DEA had enough evidence and both men plead guilty to conspiring to distribute cocaine.  In August they were given one year in prison, and upon release, they will be supervised for two years.

On Flowers’ Instagram, he wrote ‘Bad Boys 4 Life’ and referenced himself as ‘Detective Mike Lowrey’ Will Smith’s role in Bad Boys.  Edwards in his social media posted the words, “We ride together. We die together,” making reference to his friendship with Flowers.

Manuel Carlos Hernandez, Trevanti McLeod, and Durojaiye Obafemi were also arrested and charged.
